Peter manages to retrieve the serum from Kraven, who discovers the exosuit’s weakness to loud noises. After Peter and Harry synthesize an antidote for Connors, Peter locates him with Miles’ help and eventually defeats and cures him. Upon seeing Peter wearing the exosuit, Connors reveals that it is actually an alien lifeform called a symbiote, which Oscorp obtained years prior from a meteorite, and warns Peter to destroy it. Under the symbiote’s corrupting influence, Peter refuses and keeps it for himself despite learning that Harry’s illness has returned, straining their friendship. As Peter goes on a symbiote-induced rampage against the Hunters (even nearly killing Mary Jane at one point), Kraven captures Miles and forces him to fight Li.
However, most of Sony’s other big, single player outings are verified for Steam Deck, most notably the other two Spider-Man games from Insomniac — the original and Miles Morales. PlayStation Network accounts are free to acquire and will net you some trophies for the game while you play. However, as it’s no longer mandatory to have one, you can now play Spider-Man 2 like it’s any other PC game — completely detached from the Sony ecosystem — if you would prefer. Spider-Man 2 foreshadows the looming threat he poses over dozens of its 31 main story missions. Thankfully, you’ll have massively-enhanced gadgetry and powers by the time you finally face him. Movement is handled very similarly to the previous games in the series. Using their web shooters, the protagonists can swing between and above buildings while performing aerial acrobatics. Though the movement system is built upon the foundations from the previous installments, there are some new features as well. One of them is the ability to glide – after launching themselves into the air, Peter and Miles can cover long distances without needing to keep using their webs.

In keeping with Insomniac’s track record, the music behind it all is stellar, with Miles’ and Peter’s respective signature tunes playing depending on who you’re controlling. A highlight, though, is the theme that follows in Kraven’s footsteps, which bears more than a passing resemblance to Howard Shore’s Uruk-hai war march from The Lord of the Rings score. It soundtracks a world that looks stunning, even when played in performance mode at a stable 60fps as I did for most of my playthrough. Rewards for completing these various activities vary, with some ranging from genuinely exciting story teases for what’s to come, to simply gaining some tech parts to upgrade your abilities with.

To celebrate Marvel’s Spider-Man 2’s upcoming PC release, Marvel Rivals players can purchase this suit in-game starting 6PM PST on January 29. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, created by Insomniac in collaboration with Marvel, is a technological and graphical showcase utilizing tools like ray-tracing to bring the city of Marvel’s New York to life. On HM88 , you’ll encounter a variety of new ray-tracing options with individual quality settings to finetune performance and fidelity across a broad range of hardware configurations. Standard open-world filler activities are here aplenty, and that’s one area where Spider-Man 2 hasn’t moved with the times or shown ambition at all.
Monster Hunter Wilds
To their credit, the way you can highlight side objectives by pressing the right stick is a welcome upgrade over mere icons on a map. Even without that, you can spot ominous clouds or glowing purple rooftops with the bare eye signaling activities are there to be found. This isn’t a world that beckons exploration or discovery, necessarily, but it is a step in the right direction toward creating greater immersion and mercifully less time spent looking at the map screen.
All of this contributes to fighting back against crime in each district of New York, a city now twice the size of what we’ve seen before including the leafy residential roads of Queens and the bustling borough of Brooklyn. There are 14 unique districts, each with its own set of objectives to complete before you can unlock fast travel to that part of the map. Gliding is especially great for crossing long distances thanks to the numerous wind tunnels that carve their way through New York’s seemingly endless grid of streets flanked by art deco architecture and modern mirror-like skyscrapers. The main story took me around 18 hours to complete before I hit 100%, and the subsequent platinum trophy popped up to congratulate my efforts after 27 in total. Despite whatever loftier ambitions the story may have, this is still unapologetically an old-school approach to open-world game design, and nowhere is this displayed more clearly than in its optional quests. A new personal favourite gadget called the Web Grabber – which pulls enemies in from a distance and makes them smack into one another – also playfully builds into this philosophy.
The Spider-Bot will be crawling near the top of the South-Eastern wall. The Spider-Ham Spider-Bot is found close to the Eastern corner of the Financial District. There, look for a tall concrete building with “Damage Control” on the top with red backlighting. The Gwen Stacey Spider-Bot is located in the South-West corner of the Downtown Queens district.

The story contains a number of unexpected twists, is very engaging, and boasts acting performances, full Russian dubbing, and a high level of scene direction, cinematographic and spectacular. There will also be plenty of impressions from encounters with supervillains. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is available to PC players on January 30, 2025 on Steam and the Epic Games Store. At first, players may be wondering what Kraven’s actual motivation is other than finding the strongest opponent to kill. It’s revealed that Kraven is dying from a disease and that he doesn’t have much more time left to live. After Sandman was defeated in the opening, crystals can be found all over New York. These crystals will spawn smaller Sandmen that players have to defeat in order to collect the crystal. These reveal hidden memories of Marko before the events of his attack on the city.
