You need to jump to the left to reach a room with another rotating platform. Puzzle Piece 4/4– While on the floating ice platforms, this puzzle piece is in the air while you are on the second one. Artifact 1/2 “PS Move Navigation Controller” – From the start of the area pull up the wires on the right to grab a throwable item, then throw it at the platform to drop it into the water. Jump across and pull the three small wires, followed by the revealed large middle wire to get this artifact. Puzzle Piece 1/4 – From the start of the area, go to the left and go through or around the igloo to find this puzzle piece. Artifact 1/2 “PS Move Sharpshooter”– After jumping up through the two slanted glass panels, jump to the left to an area with a wooden box with a diamond on it.
When this partnership fell through, Kutaragi persevered and developed it into a standalone console, resulting in the original PlayStation. Right next to the PS + easter egg are two Bots next to eight blue shopping bags. The shopping bag is the icon of the PlayStation Store that launched in 2006, allowing PlayStation Network members to buy digital goods such as games, add-on content, console themes and even game soundtracks.

It’s good when you say other critically acclaimed games aren’t doing it well. That’s not to say all games aren’t doing this, as Returnal and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 used the controller capabilities to the max. Press the Options button on your controller whilst next to the blue steering wheel to bring up the Map Menu; you should hear the sound of an engine revving up. Jump up the steps and head right to get to the top of the structure and to a line of asteroids (which will be guarded by Spitters and other various enemies). Protagonist Cole McGrath has electric superpowers one of which is the induction Grind that lets him accelerate along metal cables. Very early into the Electrocloud level, you’ll spot a jet fighter flying about on the right-hand side of the level. This is the R-C01 from the cover of Air Combat, the first game in the Ace Combat series released on the PS1 in 1995 and developed by Namco.
This references 1996’s Crash Bandicoot on the PS1, developed by Naughty Dog and often considered the PlayStation’s earliest mascot-type character. The dance is the Crash dance created for Japanese ads of the game (specifically the modified one from the N-Sane Trilogy on PS4), while the mask is Aku Aku, Crash’s protector. Immediately to the left of the Wires that start this level is a water tank showing a Bot in a shark tank that’s circled by two dangerous Pirhanas. This references 2016’s PlayStation VR Worlds for PS4, developed by SIE London Studio as the launch game for the PS VR. The London Heist level would be expanded into a full game called Blood & Truth in 2019.
The SingStar Microphone was the iconic peripheral of the SingStar games, of which there were over 70 different releases (including the same game with different setlists per region). Coming as a pair of one red and one blue microphone, they came bundled with an adapter that both mics plugged into. This was so that they only take up one of the PS2’s USB ports, leaving the remaining port open for the EyeToy camera. G28 allowed the PlayStation 2 to connect online for multiplayer, sliding into the Expansion Bay. It also had space for a hard drive, which was required for some games, while others could use them for optional DLC or game installation to reduce load times, much like the PS3 would do.
Demon’s Souls got a PS5 remake in 2020 for the launch of the console. In the second pink field area you’ll find a large rabbit-like robot jumping over the play area. It holds the Guiness World Record as the first platform video game in true 3D, beating out Super Mario 64 by an entire year. These aspects don’t fundamentally change how Astro’s Playroom plays. [newline]But they make those moments you’ve experienced before feel more interesting and immersive.
The Playroom
The Sega Genesis came with Altered Beast, but eventually they switched that to Sonic the Hedgehog. Those days are mostly gone since game and console bundles are instead used as marketing devices to boost sales mid-generation. The PS5 comes with a free game that not only demonstrates the new console’s abilities but celebrates the long history of PlayStation. Now jump back out and left to land on a silver switch, raising a block that helps you jump up to a second switch.
From the beginning of the level, follow the wooden path forward through the grass and up to Checkpoint 2. Tug the cables to the left of it to reveal some steps up to the next area. Continue following the wooden path forward to the next wall, defeating three Knockers and a Spiky as you go. Both the roller ball and the ship suits were easily the best of the ones on offer. Considering both get more interesting levels after their introduction.
Puzzle Piece 1/4 – From the very start go to the large umbrella on the dock area on the left. Jump up from the smaller umbrella to the larger one, then directly in the middle over the line of coins.
